For Women’s
EYES ONLY
Discover why this lawyer and her former CIA Officer husband, are revealing these personal protection secrets...
Hi. My name is Amanda Hanson.
I'm a lawyer, and my husband and I run a firearms training and personal protection firm. I prepared this message because for a while now I've wanted to put together a special class for women only.
And I've finally found the time to put together the class that I believe every woman will find invaluable.
Especially, because one of the most important parts of this class is that you’re going to get the chance to handle several different self-defense tools that you can use to protect yourself. For instance, I will bring in several guns for you to handle and check out, to help find the right gun for you. I will also bring in other tools besides guns that you can use, and I'll get to those in a moment...
But before I get ahead of myself, I want to tell you a personal story demonstrating why I believe this class is so important.
My frightening encounter
Before I met my husband - who is a former CIA Officer - I knew very little about personal protection and guns. I found guns to be quite intimidating.
At the time we met, I lived in an apartment building in a relatively dangerous area of Baltimore, MD (My husband's least favorite place.)
Early one Sunday morning I was woken up by the sound of someone banging on my apartment door. I was disoriented from being in a deep sleep so I hid in my bedroom with the door locked hoping they wouldn’t be able to get in.
They banged on the door for several minutes before it suddenly stopped. I was terrified and was anxiously looking around for anything to protect myself.
All I had was my cell phone and I didn’t even know the number to my apartment building’s front desk.
I ended up calling the wrong number in my panic.
Then suddenly, it sounded like someone was trying to get in the door. No more knocking, but sliding something in between the door and the frame. This went on for what seemed like several minutes, then stopped.
I finally dialed the right number to the front desk and the man who answered simply said, “Yeah, it was the newspaper guy. He said you left your keys in your door and he was trying to get you up.”
I opened my door and found a newspaper stuck in between the door and frame with the words “be careful” written in black marker across the front page.
And sure enough, my house keys were in the door.
I was extremely thankful that nobody was trying to break in but also very aware of how vulnerable I was. I never wanted to be in that situation again.
Soon after that incident I met my husband, Jason.
I told him my apartment story and he asked me, “Why didn’t you call the police and why didn’t you have a gun?”
He then proceeded to teach me all about personal protection and firearms, which he continues to do on a daily basis.
I’ll admit, I went from totally naïve to having the confidence and the knowledge I need to be able to protect myself and to safely and effectively handle a firearm.
I love the confidence I’ve developed and I want other women to feel it as well, which is why I’ve put together this women’s only class I’m calling…
The Victim-Proof Woman
Of the many things I’m going to share with you during The Victim-Proof Woman, one of the most important is how to prevent yourself from becoming an easy target for criminals. In other words, we’ll discuss situational awareness on a much deeper level... A level that only applies to us as women.
For instance, a few of the situations we’ll talk about are what to do in public restrooms… What to do when you’re walking through a parking lot and get that uneasy feeling in your stomach… And what to do when you live alone and will be returning home after dark.
Next, we’ll talk about concealed carry options for women. I’m going to bring in two of my concealed carry purses and you’ll have the opportunity to try them out. One of the purses is specifically designed for a handgun and the other purse I turned into a concealed carry purse myself. (I’ll show you how I did that in this in class.)
I’m also going to bring in my fanny pack and show you how I carry a gun in that too, which is a great option for exercise or dog walks.
In addition, I’m going to discuss…
Home safety as it applies to women
Unfortunately, Jason travels often because he’s either off at some top-of-the-line firearms school to get more training – or he’s training others himself.
And if you live alone… Or if your husband travels often like mine, then you need to learn how to protect yourself from home invasions.
I’ll tell you where I keep my firearm in my home, how I store it, and I’ll even bring in a simple and inexpensive device you can use to scare off intruders in the first place.
I love this device and you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to use.
Of course, the class wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t discuss my favorite personal protection tool of all…
The tactical pen
The truth is, I don’t carry a gun as often as Jason, but I ALWAYS have my tactical pen with me.
I’m going to show you how you can properly use the tactical pen to defend yourself. I’ll show you the best two ways to grip the pen and I’ll show you some simple self-defense moves with the pen.
For example, I’m going to show you the best place to strike an attacker… How to escape someone who grabs you from behind… And what to do if someone pushes you to the ground.
If you want, you can bring your own tactical pen and you can practice some of these moves in class. I’ll even bring in pizza boxes so we can practice stabbing them.
But let me get back to what I believe is probably the most important reason to attend this class…
As I mentioned earlier, I’m going to bring several concealed carry guns for you to handle and evaluate during class. Plus, Jason will also be at this class to help you evaluate which gun is best for you and which gun fits your hand best. (As I mentioned earler, Jason's background is that he's a former CIA Officer and he's the author of The Covert Guide to Concealed Carry.)
The fact is, after this class you might just find the perfect gun for you, and you might be surprised when it was a gun you didn’t think you’d like, which is exactly what happened to me when I picked my concealed carry gun.
“I learned a TON about how to protect myself…”
Also, if you’re at all hesitating about taking this class, please consider what these past attendees have said...
“I really enjoyed your Victim-Proof Woman class, you did an AWESOME job! Thanks so much!!”~Christen Tailor, Las Vegas, NV
“I took your victim-proof woman course and I learned a lot from the class! It was great that I was able to try a few firearms to see which one fits me best. I would definitely recommend this class to my girlfriends (if you have one again).”~ Brianna Davidson, Las Vegas, NV
“Your class was excellent. My husband signed me up, and I wasn’t feeling really good about coming. I had been afraid of guns up to that point. I came away enthusiastic and looking forward to getting a gun and learning more.”~ Erica Greenstreet, Sacramento, CA
“I really enjoyed the Victim-Proof Woman class! Amanda, you made all of us feel comfortable, regardless of our level of experience. The information was practical and useful, and I really appreciated hearing things from a woman's perspective. Thank you!” ~ Amy Benson, Henderson, NV
“Thank you so much for putting on the Victim-Proof Woman class on Saturday. It was especially helpful to hear how some of the safety principles and laws apply to women and how we are different, because the fact is that we are. You were both honest and engaging and I learned a TON about how to protect myself.”~ Melanie Walters, Boulder City, NV
“Amanda is a wonderful and engaging instructor. She's very friendly and makes even the newest newbie had never even held a gun before this class) feel welcome and at ease. I learned a lot about self-protection and about which handguns are well suited for women.”~ Barbara Colley, Salt Lake City, UT
“I just wanted to say thank you for the awesome ladies only class that I attended on Saturday. I recently got into shooting and carrying concealed. My father wants his little girl protected at all times. But input from dad on how to carry just wasn't cutting it. I love your idea of how to make any purse a carrying purse. It was the first thing I showed my dad when I saw him after class. I look forward to the range time so I can try a few different guns that may fit my small hands. Thanks again for a good class!”~Sarah Wieck, St. George, UT
The bottom line is, I truly believe there are few things better than having the confidence and ability to protect yourself… Which is why I hope you attend this class.
The cost to attend is only $199.
Currently, because of my busy schedule I am only putting on this class for private groups. If you have 12 or more women who are interested in this class please give me a call at 801-512-2545 to set up a private date for you. Also, if you have any questions at all, don't hesistate to give me a call. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Amanda Hanson
P.S. When I told Jason I was putting together this class, he showed me an article in USA Today titled, “Women, girls, taking up guns, shooting in higher numbers.” I think this is great because as women we are more likely to be victims, which is why we need to know how to protect ourselves more than men do. So if you’re interested in getting a group together for this class make sure and call 801-512-2545 today.
